Resonant Insight- The Extension of Joseph

Reading the bible aloud has revealed some interesting things to me already; things I have not registered in prior (silent) readings. This current insight feels like it resonates the text itself with the nature of the insight:

Genesis 48:22 (Jacob/Israel, to Joseph)
"And to you I give one more ridge of land than to your brothers, the ridge I took from the Amorites with my sword and my bow."

Genesis 49:22 (Jacob/Israel, of Joseph)
"Joseph is a fruitful vine, a fruitful vine near a spring, whose branches climb over a wall."

This is fascinating to me, as it depicts an extension beyond Israel in each case, precisely one chapter apart. Additionally, Joseph is not one of the tribes of Israel, rather his two sons Ephraim and Manasseh were included as two tribes, so this extension is also initiated from outside of Israel, in a sense. It is hard to pinpoint why this feels so important but- especially as it is finally sinking in after several readings of Genesis, due to engaging a different part of my brain by reading aloud- this image of extension beyond borders is sticking with me as significant.
