Something like a dream record

"Do you not understand? Look; what he is telling us is accurate."

The scientist holds up the handheld sensor to his colleague who is still dumbfounded by this turn of events. Still, neither scientist is willing to throw away the validity of their own experience leading to this point, nor lie to themselves or others about their understanding of what these readings indicate about the validity of this exchange from their perspective.

"Then it is the sign of Jonah..."

"No more, no less. A warning levied, understood, and then followed through on. Now is when the stranger from everyone's dream showed up on the beach the next day. It is when everyone knew that everyone knew, and the king listened and obeyed The Lord without a single embellishment or snip needed."

"And to him, this beach is not in the set of dimensions he occupies, he might call it a 'dream.'"

"But when he leaves he remains."

I open my mouth as if to speak but find myself rebutting my pillow. Even if this cohesion only applies within the field it is found in, which I don't think is accurate- dreams for dreams, in person interactions their own subset, etc.- then a unified subconscious front is of singular value. It feels more likely that God wanted to prove that this whole machine, well beyond the interconnection often assumed, could screech to a halt for a sign, in order to never need to along the same lines again.

"I bring God where I go."
As far as fundamental rules go, it's a damn good one. The fish starts forming along lines unexpected, in some places preceding even the tides.
