Outliers

I've seen some pretty strange stuff recently. I had a lighter, for example, that knocked against a corner of something and sparked/lit up. I picked it back up and it was ice cold, and there was a hole where it seemed like all the lighter fluid rushed out.

I also saw my cards arranging themselves as if by magic. I was throwing them, mind you, but rather haphazardly, and where the cards landed- which was influenced by hardly anything more than stack ordering, air resistance, and subconscious dexterity- seemed to tell a story, told most clearly by the joker and the queen landing on the counter like a hand ready made. I walked with them in my pocket to the store and found the whole walk to be surreal, including a sunrise that seemed just a bit early (based on moon positioning), and lit up the sky/clouds this vibrant blue.

This is all reminding me of when I was in highschool, and we were supersaturating hot water with sugar. It was supposed to fall out as it cooled, but ours wasn't. I began to wonder if we hadn't put enough in, so I took a pinch of the remaining sugar and dropped it into the cold water. Immediately the entire solution crystallized into sugar separated from water and it was astounding. It was basically chemically balanced on a razor blade, supersaturated but without net force to begin returning the sugar to solid state. I think we tried to replicate it later, but it never did it again, nor did anyone else get this result; even the teacher didn't fully know how to explain it.
