The Black and White World

What if none remained?
Will the Son of Man find faith
Or an empty Earth?

Unconsidered edge
But in this black and white world
Each side has its place

So you sing to me
As if I'm still in the room
I'm still listening

So I dream for you
And lay down the two dozen
To show I'm still here

Do my eyes reveal
How linear I have seen?
That pain's empathy?

Do the stars sparkle
Not a thousand or billion
But all that remain?

That night the walls bled
But the dawn had not faded
I resolved to stay

Not for my soulmate
She was waiting either way
But for a true friend
