A Day Late and a Dollar Short

I have editors
And highly skilled accountants
As I am wasteful

The day before you
My heart pounded and yours pined
The rest was unknown

The day before that
The beginning was secured
Splicing, tethering

How long must I wait?
If it is for perfection
Let's give it two days

How much must I give?
If my very last dollar
Take my wallet too

Try to give it back
Tenfold over and over
Like sand on the beach

I have currency
I am forging it right now
With top men guarding

Must I give a toast?

Verdict

I have held this back for long enough. This wicked generation sickens me. This distasteful generation disgusts me. 1,000 generations promised, nonetheless, and so it will be. Did you know that one can build an image of Jesus so clearly in their mind that they will see an idol in his place and feel certain of their eternal fate? A cloned image, without the power of God. Perhaps considered fine, here on Earth, but what of on Judgement Day? How horrific would it be to find out that you have been lied to? How terrifying will it be to hear "I never knew you" in the silence, while you ask the lawyer by your side to proceed? Jesus is not coming for you.
