Once More, With Style

The story was old
But this ending is brand new
I stayed, hope remained

We walked a thin line
Testing high tide and rough seas
Pearls and diamonds

Your heart is borrowed
Mine has been the deepest blue
Near invisible

The color shifting
Maybe it was for the best
I could not see them

Of sixes and eights
I can still muster a coin
Can you fix the flip?

My heart remains torn
Between dreams of perfection
And what people say

I assume tension
Is required in some way
So I endure it

So I ask again
Since "It has a ring to it."
Put quite simply "Yes?"
