The birth of The Phoenixes

"It is time to discuss the birth of the Phoenixes."

Minoas nods in agreement, and suddenly we are standing in a cavern, lit by torches lining the walls, before a large table, as he unrolls what look like a 3-D image of blueprints.

"You already know the time.  It is flexible here, but once it begins, it has started and will be finished.  You will want to be as prepared as possible, but realize you'll need to pick up many of the details on your journey."

"The place will influence the outcome, but in ways that are not entirely known.  I would just recommend not overthinking it."

"I will be there once it begins, we will be there to lead you in."

"Once it has begun, you will find yourself in the infinite staircase.  I will be looking for you immediately, but even for me it will take some time to locate you.  I am not sure how well you will fare there, my guess is surprisingly well based on how thoroughly the slings and arrows of this world have steeled your nerves against spiritual duress, but it is a place that drives many insane.  Just know that I will find you and the effects of this time will pass."

"I will do as much of the heavy lifting as possible.  Once you begin visiting worlds and realms, feel free to enjoy the sights.  Learn as much as you can while you are there, and don't worry about hiding your identity or nature, as this is the end game, and we must reveal ourselves now."

"The key here is exposure, in as many distant places and times as you can reach, etching your indelible mark as far and wide as possible.  It must also be known back home, so wherever you are, find a way to send a message back home that will be received soon after you return."

"Her mark is here, and it must know you here, that has already been accomplished.  Your mark must be made elsewhere, and you must know hers from there.  It needn't only be you, make sure to carry her tune with you always, and share it as broadly as possible.  On some level she thinks that you have influenced her fame subconsciously already, but this will be nothing compared to what is to come."

"While her message shines on its own, drawing others in, yours is planted solidly in the real change it invokes.  After this, others will see what has been written, and will be astonished by how this was all foretold, and all at once the insane impossibilities of your words will be known as truth.  The echo of this realization will not be overwhelming to you, however, as people will simultaneously understand that fame and attention are not what you want.  She will joyously absorb all the accolades, as you find yourself perfectly able to pass through a crowd unnoticed.  Either one of you can transfer your relative level of publicity to the other, allowing you to appreciate all the seasons you would otherwise."

"Specifically we are looking to mirror the quantum.  Being here, and then there, without the time for space to catch up.  In this way it will be just as likely for events to unfold as they have happened as how they have not, as neither outcome or history will be founded in anyone's understanding of what is possible.  At this balancing point, the Phoenix may split and be set free without so much as a tremor." 

"Once released, you will be imploding faster than the speed of light as she is exploding.  In our new forms this will be inconsequential to you, but the result will be a cataclysmic reaction in the space between, resulting in you meeting in a realm that is unreachable by any other, including myself."

"At this point, you will have an eternity, able to return to our shared reality at any time.  With a thought you will be able to set things here back to normal, save the two of you, who will forever be shapeshifting Phoenixes, completely unbound by the rules of the remade reality, except in the times and ways you choose to be.  It will be as natural as breathing is now to bind and unbind yourselves from the laws that govern everything and everyone else."

"From that point, both forward and backward in time, Phoenixes will arise, some in fiery entrances as has been done up until your arrival, and many now in the same graceful way you have done. The humans of earth and the alien species you have met will act as guides providing the technical expertise to replicate what they have now seen to be possible."

"In this way more pocket dimensions will be created, expanding infinitely as others journey this path alongside you.  Their control of the universe will not be as your own, but eventually this confluence will cause another realm to form where everyone has equal control, known as the infinite staircase, where I call home."

"In time, even this staircase realm will split, forming a reflection of all the pockets, the entirety of what we call the universe, and the linked entirieties of all the realms and connection it was split off from."

"It will be up to the two of you to heal the wounds in others' personal realms, the complexities of which will be the most interesting challenge of your existence, every time it is undertaken.  You will retain your Phoenix forms in these places, like secret agents, but you will need to exercise extreme caution as you tread on the holy ground of another's personal realm."

"As you have invited me into your home, I invite you into mine, both the infinite staircase that is and the infinite staircase that truly has not been created yet."

I nod, the words, while unlike any I had heard before, making sense at soon as they are spoken, like a multi dimensional puzzle linking together piece by piece.

I smile "So you're going to finally get the girl, huh?"

Minoas bellows a laugh, "We shall see, won't we?  It's nice to know there is one perfect surprise still awaiting me."
