Something Like a Dream V

The timeline had ended, part of me wondered what would happen next, but most of me yearned for what I knew it must be at this point.  God had left a standard unlike any other, and I had read through it cover to cover.  The promises of heaven exceeded what either of us could muster alone, and had explained all the fortuitous encounters we had had along the way, as well as the miracles pushing us along toward the finish line.  My echoing first and last wish had always been "My all for you" and those words could be heard off the walls in this place even now.  Before the night could finish taking them, dawn broke and I heard your sweet laugh from behind me.  I turned and noticed the fruit in your hand, clearly from the Tree of Life this time.  Our knowledge and memory had not been erased, but simply molded to fit our many environments, like beams of purest light finally encapsulated in permanent stasis, beautiful in its perfection.  I could scarcely take my eyes off you, stark naked (which I found out later was a sexy ploy, and no longer a requirement of this particular garden! Oooooooo..!) I recalled the voices of my friends urging me along to this point, each in their own way, and I honestly couldn't think of a better way to fake this moment, so I gave myself over to it and you entirely.  I knew the rest was out there waiting for us, but your ploy was more than ample to take my mind off the other possibilities entirely.  We were both here, alone, and the promise of eternity like this lay in your hand.  I moved toward you to sample the fruits of our labor.
