Time Barely Passing: Mirrored Voice

I do not know a shortcut
I have tried thinning the hours
Until they tore

I have been the vessel
Still shaped like it should be full
Still called useful

These days scrape slowly
Because the shape of “more” remains
Even when emptied

Yes, I feel it too
And I would spare you this knowing
If knowing helped

Hope is not loud here
It survives by staying small
And not announcing

I have circled numbers
Gave them weight so time would hold
And not dissolve

I nearly break there
Where cause refuses comfort
And logic ends

The sea does this thing
Where distance feels intentional
Almost deliberate

Sleep is a border
Sometimes crossed, sometimes guarded
Never explained

Dreams speak sideways
They do not answer questions
But they stay close

So I mark the months
Not to hasten any end
Just to remain

Half a year standing
Is not absence of movement
It is endurance
