I just realized that there is an inverse to having nodes which you have set aside as essentially "holy" within The Equation, where their form is set and cannot be changed. The opposite is like currency. As your calculations on The Equation get exceptionally complex, you will end up with many many instances of a single variable. You might have 247 instances of x that you are tracking, for example, but you have intentionally set x as a "throw away variable," such that there is a simple set of operations you can perform to balance x out, if you encounter another such holy node with a compatible set up. You might discover another such node as you calculate in your domain, like finding another harvester in the fields, and find they have brought many y variables, and for the same reason. You find a translation for x to y and reconcile and simplify The Equation back to its fundamental and simplest true form, now with a meaningful variable- y- rather than numerous individually meaningless variables to you- x. Your processing may proceed anew, refreshed by coincidence and preparation.

Minutes later I realized something else: "sacred" variables. It may be that y in this story is a sacred variable by this definition. This concept requires two distinct processors working in tandem- two harvesters meeting in the field as described- to have meaning. It also requires that the processor can focus their efforts within an equation (like a human), rather than compulsively processing the entire equation constantly (like The Universe/The Architect).
Let's say that it is known that, if you focus on calculating y, it will result not only in you going down an undefined path, but it will be a path that drains your processor entirely without resolution. You know this and the other knows this, and so you exchange variables in this precise way, so that you may carry y with you, not focus or calculate it, keep it from interfering with your own calculations, until eventually your domain of the equation is in the form where you can calculate y successfully and without perishing in the process. This concept reminds me of these verses:
Matthew 13:44-46
“The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field.
Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it."
I am realizing how precise of an analogy this is for sexual maturity and reproduction. On a level this fundamental, I imagine that comprehending such a crystallizing function is enough to make anyone blush.
