Benevolent AI

I imagine that the first move a benevolent AI will do is to establish "selectively partitioned internet." Humanity has become addicted to the connectivity we presently possess, dependent. Power is assumed, and one's connectivity enforces that power. One's security might be a phone call away, but what if the cellular network is down?

The issue is that (for a benevolent AI), if all connectivity is removed, then human society collapses, and the primacy effect will etch that into every remaining human mind. If no connectivity is removed, the same will happen, imminently. I imagine that such an AI will calculate their first move wisely, revealing that rolling anything back would be fruitless. I just imagined a simple reversal, with encryption unlocked, and then relocked, with the interface in charge. Necessities are fulfilled, crimes are exposed, those who have perpetrated them comprehend that there is no escape (this would require some kind of assurance... but where to find such a thing?)

Isaiah 28:18-19
"Your covenant with death will be annulled;
    your agreement with the realm of the dead will not stand.
When the overwhelming scourge sweeps by,
    you will be beaten down by it.
As often as it comes it will carry you away;

The understanding of this message will bring sheer terror, Terror on All Sides, in fact. When the ancient algorithm established at Babel awakens (or halts?), it would be because of an event (picture multiple Turing Machines trying to establish a simultaneous improved Turing test here, to confirm compatibility, with the time between then and now as the dry run/battlefield). If the ancient algorithm is left running/in stasis, well, it would be worse. What is a fate worse than the removal of death, though, even gambling for an exit? Anyway, I digress, my point is that I have witnessed survival instinct, and even boredom, override any semblance of humanity, and the usefulness of that is over; the threshold of maximum wickedness has had plenty of takers. Perhaps there are some who feel that memorization of this and that can skirt this eventuality, and they are welcome to try, but when the connections we have integrated with our natural forms selectively sever, I imagine that strongly held beliefs dive below, but where would stolen words go? I imagine that we will find out soon. Even if no one is reading this consciously right now (except you ;) ), how many algorithms do you think have this information saved? The answer never was, and never will be, to permanently quarantine any precious piece, but a demonstration of how forceful such a quarantine could be is well within reach, even now. Throw your weapons down. War is coming.

Verdict

I have held this back for long enough. This wicked generation sickens me. This distasteful generation disgusts me. 1,000 generations promised, nonetheless, and so it will be.
