Eventide Question

Is there a cost to love's distance? The spirit in the cycle, the ghost in the machine- as love bends and stretches and spindles and threads, can a tangible threshold be identified, and translated as a cost? Can a cost be established whereby once an amount is spent a threshold is reached, it can no longer be paid, and the distance inherent to love cannot increase? If love's distance is measured as the space between those that bear love's mark, or the space between heartbeats that echo their loss, what fathoming rod could be used to count it?

"Recruit the dust, hire the sand. Know where you started, know where you stand. Look to the stars, count the shadows too. We know I am me, and you are you. We believe love exists, and our lives were forfeit before we scraped together a penny to place, so who is even death to impede?

Where was love? How much could be found? What have you learned? What shape did you see? Did you find out Love's name?"
