Midnight Indigo

The night grows darker
In this singular sadness
A man collapses

The roller coaster
Whistling by at midnight
Graciously unseen

An afterimage
Is all that can be mustered
On midnights like this

Peer into the night
Imagine indigo shade
Amidst perfect dark

What's left to regret?
Was there ever anything?
Spinning out of time?

Not even a scar
Just deep blue fading to black
Then winter static

So I hibernate
Words oozing more than spoken
I hope it's enough

Enough to find me
For I haven't strength to search
Nor soul to contend
