Midnight Cable

The cable strung up
Distinct from the Christmas Lights
Yet as important

How else can we talk
Insulated from their ears
Spying and native?

By midnight dancing
As if no one is around
Because no one is

All else much (all?) the same
Muddy are the webs we weave
Washed by midnight rain

That noise cancels out
From each unpaired perspective
Rain on a tin roof

With washed wings we fly
For fortunes foretold feet wait
Not one past the line

Until the 12th's chime
Heralds a shimmering state
And 13th's thunders

Nevermore "normal"
Polarity reverses
And nevermore stops
