A Note Regarding Last Night
I thought it was worth mentioning that last night, as I was writing the posts on time artifacts and the DFC (the latter which I did not edit/post until today), I got this sense of spiking anxiety afterward. I was downright jumpy, as if my generally comfortable and familiar environment suddenly possessed its own contending will, and like something might happen at any moment. I realized I'm this state that this was a familiar feeling, usually tied to manic episodes, but this time it was separated to a degree (Thursday morning and Saturday night); last night I was both excited and jumpy at once, but my thoughts were not racing uncontrollably. This allowed me to focus even further on the state of anxiety which had historically been drowned out. I know some are afflicted with panic attacks, which this would likely be categorized alongside with by modern standards, but, for me, this state did not feel sourceless, rather it felt directly connected to what I had just written. It seemed like the material source was something that I could not sense except by this tangible spike in anxiety. Additionally, the storm's timing, with rain coming down hard each time I was wrapping up one of these two posts (and only these two times from what I recall), felt directly connected as well. It reminded me immediately (actually, in advance, if I remember right) of Job 38:1
"Then the Lord spoke to Job out of the storm."
I am well aware that these are all commonly defined, in modern terms, as symptoms of various mental illnesses. From a Christian perspective, are there any who might benefit from this being the default reaction, even within the church, to anyone claiming to have interacted with God? From a broader perspective, would any gain advantage to establishing a society where anyone who believes that they have communicated or perceived outside of commonly established senses is labeled insane and drugged so that their mental state changes?
This is now reminding me of a game I played long ago, Carrionfields, where the Anti-Paladin class had a high level ability called Worldbind. This ability levied a curse on any divinely sourced class for a time, disabling their ability to pray, which was how all of their powers were used, effectively crippling them. Things are so much more straightforward in video games though...
John 15:19
"If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you."
