The Best Laid Plans
I imagine that villains often share their plans in movies and the like because on some subconscious level it feels like the best laid plans are those that will work, despite your enemy's best efforts, even if fully exposed. It always feels like despite each of their wots The Doctor and Master are constantly revealing plans to each other at specific junctures, and it just feels like this would be a preferred arrangement, where one does have someone to bounce their plans off of and test them. Why tests plan against an imperfect defense? Why claim total victory, if your reward is no longer having someone who can challenge you?
This got me thinking: the superlative plan would have the shape of not only working, even if fully known and understood by all enemies and others alike, but would receive omnilateral support. I know this sounds like a tall order, but it is filtering to mind today based off dreams I've had recently, including one I have yet to post. If tides can be turned and war becomes a fight becomes a challenge becomes resonance becomes love, then how do lovers differentiate themselves from the one who claimed total victory and lost their enemy in the process? How does a system proceed meaningfully in love, without others providing other inputs, without others continuing to test the structure's integrity, with integrity? It could be that these questions cannot be answered until love is seen, and that their answers will be astoundingly beautiful.
