Fallow 83

The sun is shining
Day still barely beginning
Moonlight fresh in mind

In the front porch light
The moon set through darkened clouds
Trial comes to mind

Filibuster days
It felt like all were asleep
And I'd lost my mind

That was years ago
The worst passed, message remains
Steps remembered, learned

Work goes well today
Plugging along as it does
Hours each ticked off

It's 7am
Are these words still meant for me
Or does storm roll in?

Replacing the calm
But (the/a) captain now sea-legged
And hull reinforced

Easter will reveal
Winds of Change Night or Morning
Delight or Warning
