Rejected Stone

In love was man made
In love a city founded
In love it was named

That city might mend
Killers can be shown mercy
Or at least remind

Such an early rift
Such a jealous reaction
Uninhibited

Echo settling
Such that thief may rob the grave
Oneness done away

Pillar established
The potter reforming clay
Without utter ruin

Once more settled firm
So a city given form
Might ever persist

The rejected stone
Marked by his brother's bloodstain
Are we not as well?

A longing fulfilled
Let love outshine petty things
Till seasons resume
