Idle Tongues, Unidle Hands

Sometimes agreement
Binds too deeply for its taste
Too long forgotten

For you donned these clothes
Spoke to recapture their hearts
Then remained silent

Did some piece of you
Stay so agreement remained
Now a lonely guard?

The torch since put out
But head and tail disagree
Still from darkness strikes

I asked for Wisdom
Instead of the stone found chains
I cut without shame

I knew not their name
Though as we circle the drain
I discover why

Some cuts must be made
The most precise incisions
Still hurt all the same

So I lament loss
Even as you are regained
Paired patient Hope blooms
