Sonnet of Tides

This moon Luna will see the end of days
Still don't expect this month pierced by a lance
For what we perceive as changing of phase
Is all part of the same long lonely dance

It seems clear that days bring us no closer
Time is like the wineskin we reside in
If hope does not ferment then it's over
No plethora of vessels yields a win

So drink deep faithful moon of what you see
Be drunk delighting in our revelry
Let inhibitions fail for what may be
By sober sunrise wine waned, but not tree

Love conquers all when hope dwells within thus
Like nesting dolls all hope will spring from us
