Beastly Calculation
I was just meandering Hebrew gematria and found that the number for creation is said to be 700, because this is the value of the letters combined in Genesis 1:1 for only the nouns, and it corresponds to the 7 days in the weeks (6 in creation and 1 for rest).
As I kept reading into the details of the process for assigning value in this way, the number of the beast was brought up as a likely gematria reference in the New Testament, as the verse itself calls for someone to calculate it, someone with insight, and that the process calls for wisdom. Given this number's close proximity to 700, I wondered if the point was not to calculate 666 specifically, but to calculate what this number meant in terms of creation. So what takeaway would the beast have from creation, which is to say what is 700 - 666?
So I started looking into Hebrew words that have a value of 34 and found some interesting candidates: the roll of water, like a surge, which feels like a reference to the river in Ezekiel 47. This could represent the kind of building inevitability of the beast within creation. "Brothers of Renown" which almost feels like it could be a reference to the two witnesses, which are listed as standing against the wickedness of mankind, dying to the beast, and then being resurrected to heaven. "Confusion" as in Babel, which feels quite on the nose considering all I have said in relation to this event in regards to the fermentation of mankind over the course of this timeline. "Yah Presents" which heralds all the way back to Genesis 2:22, when God brought Eve to Adam. There are many other possibly meaningful words with this value that could be takeaways- reveal, dashing to pieces, Yah is Gracious, calamity, to cover up the heart, Strife. In my experience many gematria values have a number of potent words contained within them, so the question is always "how is one to choose?"
"How is one to choose" feels like precisely the question. I think that the general sense from skeptics is that people can turn the Bible into whatever it is they want. While I think this is an exaggeration, and would certainly lead to more wicked interpretations being dashed like pottery against the cornerstone, what if in a more limited sense it were true? Even from Genesis 2:19, God had the man name the animals, and that was their name (sorry Spiny Lumpsucker!). There is an importance to assigning value, and this would be a key component to a reality by agreement, for there can be no agreement without there being something determined by someone to be agreed upon. In this way it feels as though a major point of the Bible is to determine what one will take from it, how one will choose to apply it in their own life. In the same way it feels like choosing what the beast takes away from creation may have importance in some way.
I have often considered what reality might look like if the beast decided to be good. This likely sounds like an absurdity to most, perhaps because most desire to see their pound of flesh taken in "justice" for all they have gone through, a kind of deep seeded desire for sadism/revenge. However, it seems that in the same way most people stubbornly cling to "justice," I cling to "hope." So I consider that it may be possible for the beast to choose their own adventure like any of the rest of us, and consider that likely the most disruptive path to the common interpretation of God's plan would be the path of goodness that I describe, for then God would need to make a decision to either satisfy the crowd or show mercy on a beast that had changed its stripes. With so many things written though of what will happen to the beast, and what will be done by its hand, mercy would be no simple task, while still satisfying the letter of the law and prophecy. In this way a timeline where the beast has determined to be good would likely be the most difficult beast (considering a multiverse perspective here) to deal with or resolve, if there were a crowd acting as jury, witnessing the events unfold.
So with this being said, what might creation still contain with the beast persisting in it? This is to say, what might be made of 34, if God was in a position to choose mercy, and a solution called for 666 to remain present and accounted for, of the 700? While many of these words in 34 are interesting choices, I feel that the most interesting option has to do with soulmating. In a soulmate solution, one would actually be looking at a kind of paired reality equation. While this feels as though it becomes quite complex if you try to look at it in full, what if one looked at strictly the remainder, but assumes it is paired? This is to say that 34 is possessed twice. As the soulmates would be able to essentially exchange value while their realities were in the process of colliding, could it be possible to pass some of this value from one's hand to the other's? If so, a whole arena of possibilities opens up ranging from an even split- 34/34- to the most unbalanced split in either direction- 1/67. However, once more, if many things could have meaning, it feels as though what one ultimately chooses is what does have meaning.
As I was reading through the details on gematria, before I really formed any of this up, I stumbled across a common usage of gematria based on חי. This means "alive" or "living" and it has the value of 18. As soon as I considered what might be done with 34 paired I remembered Jephthah's vow, and how this felt like a critical juncture for the way I look at The Law, and how I would be willing to rules lawyer it (create technically legal interpretations that were not commonly accepted from it) if it came to increasing mercy and hope. I realized that Jesus instructed us to do exactly this through the way he approached others; I believe Jesus did this with the understanding that an array of possibilities were available and would be employed throughout this timeline when it came to rules lawyering The Bible, but he also seeing that God's true heart had been presented in Hosea 6:6 "for I desire mercy, not sacrifice." Essentially I have trusted Jesus, for I could not see the entirety of the path myself, legally speaking, from where I stood to this level of mercy and grace, but I believed that he could see that path. As I have walked, this path has become more clear, and I have felt like running, choosing to see mercy for all. Over time the worldly sense that these are the imaginings of a child and have no place in examination of The Law has lost its strength over me (as I have said, "what is it that you are so in love with here- in your concept of how reality works- that you refuse to be moved?"), and I feel more at liberty to interpret things in love. I keep technical accuracy in mind, because such solutions must be legally sound, but my thought is that any technically accurate solution presented in love, offering what the world would call "too much mercy," would at some point need to be rejected by Jesus if it were to be rejected at all, and I have a difficult time picturing that happening.
So I considered the paired 34 remainder, such that the beast could persist, and the soulmates could as well, balancing out creation, which at that point would merge (the realities of the soulmates would merge). An unbalanced pairing seemed called for within the name of God, and then I stumbled across a common meaning of Nun נ. Nun is valued at 50, and can mean offspring, or a new generation. This brought me back to the idea that Jephthah's vow likely was to dedicate his daughter to the Lord, not to burn her (burn the house instead, it still technically works!), providing hope and continuance. It also brought me back to what I had just seen in חי "alive" at 18. These add to 34 by 2, 68 all told, and would be a balancing paired equation for creation with the beast. What more would soulmates need at the outset of a new age besides being alive (by each other's estimations and by each other's sides), and with the promise of future generations/offspring? What more did we have at the start of this timeline? Certainly I have a bias, but hopefully this calculation, which calls for wisdom, helps explain that bias, and how I choose to picture things as this timeline wraps up.
6/28/22 Update:
With the concept of nothing becoming more firmly planted in my mind this year, I looked at what might be accomplished with 68/0(or ¤). The first thing I saw was "Big Bang" which feels quite on the nose here, especially if ¤ can be used so that the balancing equation is not truly nothing, but infinitesimal, leaning on the .999... is 1 concept in mathematics to allow for a full 68 to be used while still leaving more than the two beasts in the resulting reality.
Looking through another list I saw the proper nouns of both "Long Eared" and "Wise" included as 68, which feels again like a flag planted to indicate what such a connection accomplished might look like, especially if 4 separate realms are used (allowing for the pairing of pairings, for the value of 68, if 4 "corners" each accomplish ¤.
