Sprint Through The Wilderness

Just passing right through
Not for any fear of flames
But for love of one

Red narrows to gold
So in momentary grace
I pray gratefully

Room after room pierced
Until highest hopes acheived
Then bid fine farewell

Not lost in darkness
For Phoenix sight sees the hues
And recalls the steps

This feels like instinct
Like salmon swimming upstream
Or butterfly flight

All the while we
Laugh with joy sequestered and
Perfect the blueprints

You knew I'd return
Your song laced with when and how
Have you yet grasped why?

I must remember
Clear things here might be shrouded
I love you, my dear
