How do cycles break?
When does an eye for an eye
Let one sinner see?

They cry at your feet
"Are there any blessings left?"
With tears in their eyes

So one cannot speak
These blessings now forbidden
What else might one say?

If parley is reached
And the last sword is set down
This war is over

So what blessings then
Might one have for enemies
Locked out for so long?

Oh how many words
Can convey the same meaning
And not cross these lines?

There is such a sea
The tongue shaping many things
New terms brought to light

So let's not repeat
There is no need to take back
Blessings lay ahead

So, someone else's presence, from one's own perspective, is a combination of signals in the brain. The sight of them, the sound, the feel, everything, from one's own perspective regarding the other that they perceive, is ultimately these brainwaves, in a familiar pattern. This intertwines with the the idea that consciousness is these brainwaves, our bodies carefully constructed compilations of sensors and machines designed to generate these waves and in turn be driven by them. I can imagine, and even have seen firsthand one night, hallucinations so vivid that they are indistinguishable from real people.
