Shenanigans

I cannot assume
That you both know everything
And this is not fake

Would I break your heart
Knowingly with such gusto
Should roles be reversed?

I could not bear it
And my soulmate shares my heart
So neither could you

So which is waxing
Ignorance or subterfuge?
The answer seems clear

Let me remember
When bluffs stack strongly as bets
To placate our foes

I've chosen wisely
Or perhaps I have been blessed
With wisdom in spades

So when love feels hard
For this life's prolonged absence
I do not forget

Or swiftly remind
With this title repeated
Of that which is ours
