Pine in the wilderness
A shared perspective
One whispered in the bylines
Why would I not pine?
Without you I starve
I ration your every word
To balance lean days
For what use is bread?
The angels cannot bring me
The portion I need
I have been grounded
Save your high tricks, I know it
No tests are needed
Even if I fly
What use are wings with you gone?
So I stay right here
And what of this earth?
Why would I put on the crown
You cannot buy love
So skip the worship
I never understood it
I am too stubborn
Can we reframe this?
These threads so often repeat
Still you are not here
