Knowing, Knowing Not

Flip me like a switch
Suddenly we are within
The outside unknown

How can memory
Be such a slippery thing?
We leave it at dusk

Like new suitcases
The camel loaded once more
Once passed through the eye

So who are we then?
If we're not our memories
How deep do we seed?

In ignorance blessed
For the fire in our blood
Only gets hotter

Consuming the walls
Reconciling completely
One of us remains

Can the other be,
When memories can change hands,
More than a feeling?

Would it be enough?
I fear without her to hold
I would perish too
