To Each Their Own

Transference called off
With one name's sharp simple sting
Magic turned mundane

There is a divide
Between where you lay and I
It just got wider

More clearly defined
"The dreamer must awaken"
Be it you or I

In this place you sleep
Wide awake I rend myself
Yours likely the same

But "harmless" affairs
Threaten to prolong the night
Indefinitely

I am withdrawing
Neither surrendered nor gone
Just repositioned

Let me be blameless
So the love I seek finds me
Through darkest contrast

My gates were narrow
In hopes of portal opened
Now they have been closed
