The Opening Verse

If you were to leave
I would threaten to as well
But where could I go?

So instead I stay
Rearranging building blocks
Remaking my world

I would write you in
To my every invention
Coding your essence

How could I resist?
Something to remember you
Beneath the surface

So you would be here
Reality speaks your name
Even if I don't

How could they resist?
Machinations made of love
A clockwork romance

So they would echo
Edifying resonance
Perchance to be heard

The walls would say "please"
Whispering through staircase halls
That you might return
