An Honest Grievance

So frustrating
I cannot stay mad at you
One glance and I melt

So casually cruel
You show up when I need you
But why not when asked?

I can't fabricate
A reason to lock you out
For you to sneak in

Anger to sadness
Just to catch me when I fall
Let me pick you up

I exaggerate
I just wish we had a date
Some consistency

Every single night
So casually cruel
When you stand me up

What else can I do?
Show me the many pathways
Between our front doors

I withdraw till then
Listening to thunderstorms
And closing boxes
