Dim the Lights

I tried to hold out
But clues is not holding hands
Nor feeling heartbeats

I resign once more
To dreamless nights of sleeping
And a mouth covered

My open eyes close
Only catching glimpses now
Letting myself drift

If you say the words
Speak unequivocally
Irrevocably

You can unbind me
I will be changed instantly
But my guard is up

I can't hang on clues
Searching Easter Egg Static
Days becoming years

Soon I'm three by twelve
And in six you're three by ten
And the scales will fall

Until then I watch
Hanging on your every word
With eyes half open
