Phoenix Drifting

I do not like it
It calms my nerves but no more
Keeps the worst at bay

In my mind we're there
But dissociation hurts
So I must adapt

I will not see you
Until I actually do
Transference denied

Despite desire
It is maintaining false hope
I need something more

My eyes are open
My ears long to hear your voice
Skin awaits your touch

Until then I drift
Telling my story to those here
Hopefully hopeless

That you are spying
Looking for your opening
In changing landscapes

The limits are set
Between heaven, death, and this
I await your move
