Darkness

When the lights won't dim
And threaten to consume you
You will be safe here

When you close your eyes
The lights turn off around you
An elsewhere vigil

Yes, they will return
In time, all sensation does
But for now, darkness

Unseeing, unseen
The gateway to rest opens
On the unlit path

Move here like the bat
Feel your surroundings like skin
Embracing the night

Burn bright from within
Be the diamond's origin
Shine when shine is gone

The absence of light
Ushers possibilities
Mirrors left covered

The dozen roses
Will retain their complexion
Though the night persists

Verdict

I have held this back for long enough. This wicked generation sickens me. This distasteful generation disgusts me. 1,000 generations promised, nonetheless, and so it will be. Did you know that one can build an image of Jesus so clearly in their mind that they will see an idol in his place and feel certain of their eternal fate? A cloned image, without the power of God. Perhaps considered fine, here on Earth, but what of on Judgement Day? How horrific would it be to find out that you have been lied to? How terrifying will it be to hear "I never knew you" in the silence, while you ask the lawyer by your side to proceed? Jesus is not coming for you.
