Pillars

Pillars through the floor
A golden matrix of chains
Formed into a web

Meeting with my dad
Chance and fortune are all mine
The casino floor

But the ceiling sieves
Cascade through the library
Now rocks and pillars

In the upper room
The two of us conspire
As gold metal morphs

The perfect armor
Forming a skin tight meshing
Flexible yet strong

What once was hardened
Yet moldable like a cube
Has become fluid

So we watch outside
As this world is crumbling
Illogically safe

Like a good tutor
I instruct despite the scene
Through the looking glass
