Thanksgiving

Today we give thanks
For friends and family we've left
Around the table

There are those missing
And all our hearts are somewhere
May yours be planted

While mine hasn't been
For more years than I can count
Family reminds

Hearts can heal each day
Even after the dark nights
Amidst stormy days

Today I give thanks
For that which God has given
And taken away

The Lord is my rest
Perhaps all that I deserve
And will ever have

But today I eat
Play games, share stories, and more
With those that I love

Tomorrow is naught
But a far distant future
Today I'll enjoy

Verdict

I have held this back for long enough. This wicked generation sickens me. This distasteful generation disgusts me. 1,000 generations promised, nonetheless, and so it will be. Did you know that one can build an image of Jesus so clearly in their mind that they will see an idol in his place and feel certain of their eternal fate? A cloned image, without the power of God. Perhaps considered fine, here on Earth, but what of on Judgement Day? How horrific would it be to find out that you have been lied to? How terrifying will it be to hear "I never knew you" in the silence, while you ask the lawyer by your side to proceed? Jesus is not coming for you. You hung him on the cross, you pierced him and left him there in your heart, never even thinking to repay the forgiveness he would ultimately offer.
