Response: Inspiration In Interwoven Tapestries

I just had this sudden feeling of calm mixed with something that almost felt like a hallucinogenic trip, just sitting on my couch (tobacco only, for any wondering). It was like this tuning that I just wrote of tangibly connected back to something that I once wrote about regarding the intersection of this verse:

Mark 10:18
“Why do you call me good?” Jesus answered. “No one is good—except God alone."

and the descriptions of each aspect of Creation in Genesis. In this chapter God says that nearly everything created is "good," except for darkness, sky, and mankind. If this statement from Jesus and amount of Creation are combined literally, which I believe is reasonable to do, it would mean that God essentially inhabits/makes up/what have you, nearly everything. It feels as though my "radio" tuned into this perspective in combination with my own perspective, and I could feel this permeating sense that God is all around. I started considering where God would not be in this equation (Creation), where these separations occurred, and then something else struck me: this notion of turning down the volume, the fader, feels like it would be vitally important from this perspective of being so much of reality, and experiencing so many others (mankind) simultaneously.

I would imagine that from such a holistic perspective, if I were experiencing it myself, I would need to start with the fader already intact (or develop it rather quickly). This would make verses such as Genesis 18:20-21 make more sense.
Then the Lord said, “The outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is so great and their sin so grievous that I will go down and see if what they have done is as bad as the outcry that has reached me. If not, I will know.”

This seems to indicate that God has this fader that I am referencing in effect already by this point, and responds to sin (outrage regarding sin anyway) past a certain degree. I have written something similar regarding Jesus, given his perspective of knowing what is in the hearts of men, it seems like he would generally need to have this turned down in order to operate day to day as a human, without every thought of every passerby interrupting his train of thought. If this perspective is accurate (rather than just seemingly accurate), then that would mean that the goal for anyone seekimg a closer relationship with God would be a lot like attempting being "heard" by God, by either increasing their volume or fine tuning their signal such that even a whisper could be heard directly by God. Once accomplished though, one would find that God is right there and all around, already tuned in along the same lines and path that the individual taking said steps along. The Kingdom of God is in our midst, indeed.

Luke 17:21
"nor will people say, ‘Here it is,’ or ‘There it is,’ because the kingdom of God is in your midst.”

Personally I believe that God hears prayers and knows what is in our hearts before we even ask for it, true for one and true for all, so this begs the question of how that reconciles with this notion of being "heard" so directly. What would be "hearing" from this perspective? From a human understanding/analogy this perspective feels like it would be similar to the difference between having an algorithm making note of what you say, search, do, etc. and then providing improved versions of these things in response, and speaking directly with the CEO. The difficulty with this analogy is that in this case the CEO also has a timeless perspective, and so at any point if one gets onto their radar, all algorithmic results can, and I assume are, examined for that individual- certainly for the past, and perhaps for the future/possible futures as well (assuming that free will persists in some sense in the equation, so that in some sense the specific future of a man cannot be certain). Based on the preferences of God at that point, this shared finely tuned frequency might continue to be shared; two might walk together.

Amos 3:3
Do two walk together
unless they have agreed to do so?

I have not grasped the full scope of this yet by any means, but it has been some time since I felt such a direct response, in this case occurring as an examination and in turn a revealing, to one of my posts (and never this strongly). I would imagine the question of "how" one finely tunes their station with God's will be an area of interest. I believe there is no trick to this, but it is also not easy. God will not be tricked or snared (despite what some may think of as evidence to the contrary in modern times); I believe this tuning has to do with an individual having a heart after God. In terms of whether the preferred method of contact for God is gaining sufficient volume or sufficient tuning, my personal experience is that God often speaks softly, and God's signs and signals are subtle/personal but recognizable as such. So if a similar path is walked in response, then "tuning," in this analogy, would be the preferred method. This makes sense with my experience as well, for I am by no means "loud" from the perspective of how many presently read these words, but I have done what I can to seek out and discern God's heart and follow it wholeheartedly myself. I believe that life is one's walk with God, and from this perspective as well "fine tuning" makes the most sense, for the crowd's impression of your individual walk is ultimately irrelevant to it. New for me today though is the notion that part of this journey is that the tangibility of the walk and the tangibility of the other, for each party, will also increase as frequencies align. There is an exciting comfort to this sense of symmetry for me, an excitement that only builds for the many other asymmetries apparent, and those yet to be discovered.
