Godlike Power

I hear the term "Godlike power" thrown around from time to time and the things it is used to describe always strikes me as silly. Typically I hear it used to describe things like calling down lightning or causing a plague or generally destroying things; sometimes it is used to describe creation or healing or resurrection. While these are all things God can do, this does not scratch the surface of God's power (in Exodus such things are described as "the finger of God," and I imagine it was God's pinky (Exodus 8:19)).

Personally I have imagined beings of nearly incomprehensible power- such as The Phoenix- able to shape whole realities or anything in them with thought, alter time, create stable objects entities, shift through all manner of realm and forge pathways between them. On multiple occasions I have personally been able to do whatever I could imagine in dreams. I always wondered how I could not consider such things to be blasphemy, but I never honestly considered them as such. I am now realizing it is because even these things are not Godlike power.

Godlike power is not something that should be desired, as the state required to possess it is in my opinion dreadful. Godlike power at its core, from my limited understanding, is the ability to create perfection from essentially nothing. It is being able to find oneself alone over the void and set in motion an outcome that is very good- an outcome that includes love. As God has all power and knows all, the most difficult task in this scenario is not being able to do something or know something, but to find an angle at which God cannot know something, and cannot do something. Making a reality, as these other entities I have imagined can do, would presumably be a simple task for God- making a reality with true, good, and real meaning without anything external to begin with would be the true demonstration of God's power.

It cannot be the semblance of love that is created either, it must be real love. Real love requires another, which requires that God encounter another that God cannot control or examine as if they were a machine, perhaps even one that God did not have a direct hand in making (though this is still unclear to me). It is very difficult to imagine any other entity capable of doing this while in possession of omniscience in the entirety of the realm they are in, even if they had the ability to create entities with exceptional depth, because the semblance of freewill is not freewill. It is navigating these gaps between control and freedom where I believe the most fundamental of God's power lies- the power to cause love to bloom.

I have often considered permutative realities where love does not exist, but the reality is stable nonetheless, and perhaps even possesses stable meaning. While this would be an immense power all its own, and may have applicability and value in conjunction with God's power, and may even lead one ultimately to a reality that does possess love, it feels as if the true pinnacle of God's power is that God does not require all of these fractal paths to achieve perfection, to achieve love. Essentially while one forced into a position in their own realm similar to that of God (which feels like it could only be accomplished by the separation from God and God's creation outside of oneself, which is my definition of hell) might find themselves finally reaching a place where true love can be forged, God's power does not require this trial and error. Essentially God "one shots" the path through reality, forming perfection without any do overs. Simultaneously though God has created mankind, and blessed us with dreams and imagination and wonder, such that permutations of all kinds are explored along the way, creating fertile ground for when perfection is achieved. In this way we are not reborn into the void, but we are reborn with all manner of treasures. While this does prevent us from achieving Godlike power, this is done in love, as such a state feel not only entirely undesirable but ultimately might be impossible from our corner (meaning even if in that state we would likely require permutations to reach perfection, rather than accomplishing it straight away). This does set the stage for us to ultimately manifest a power all our own though, one I believe that is meant to shift Creation from good to very good, as it blooms in season.
