Authority and Agreement- An Analogy
For sake of simplifying, and hopefully clarifying, the logic of authority and agreement:
Let's say we are playing a game. In this game we all have coins, and as long as we agree to terms for which they can change hands, they can change hands. So if we agree on a bet, then the result of the bet will result in the previously agreed upon payment of coins accordingly. If we agree that I will give you a coin for generosity's sake, or I give you one today and you give me two tomorrow, then that is what happens. Without agreement the coins do not change hands. This would represent reality by agreement, as far as the individuals and the coins and the terms that they might set between them are concerned.
Now let's say instead everything is the same but at any time I can require you to agree with something. While from a perspective one might still say that this is technically a reality by agreement, more fundamentally it is a reality by authority. Nothing is stopping me, except for my will, from taking all of your coins. In this way a reality by authority can only also appear to be a reality by agreement, with those appearances being as thorough as my will (in this scenario) is to maintain them as such. So, a reality by authority remains a reality by authority, even if it appears to be a reality by agreement, because while you can connive any clever scheme to trick me into giving up my coins, I can at any point force you to agree to give them back, as well as all of yours.
I speak here of God. God has authority over all of Creation, and there is even an instance where God uses this to apparently force a man's decision, with Pharaoh in Egypt Exodus 9:12 "But the LORD hardened Pharaoh’s heart and he would not listen to Moses and Aaron, just as the LORD had said to Moses." I have heard explanations for how this may have been done more subtly or much earlier in Pharaoh's life, only manifesting as a decision that fit God's plan at the time but not influenced directly perse, but in reality when and how heavily the forced state occurred is unimportant to the authority needed and revealed that are required to force the state.
Exodus 10:1-2
Then the Lord said to Moses, “Go to Pharaoh, for I have hardened his heart and the hearts of his officials so that I may perform these signs of mine among them that you may tell your children and grandchildren how I dealt harshly with the Egyptians and how I performed my signs among them, and that you may know that I am the Lord.”
I believe I have made the point before that the power used to influence a man's decisions is more awe inspiring than any of the plagues themselves. One would assume locusts and frogs and even the power to take life would all be in the hands of the God who with words made all of Creation, and allowed the earth to be flooded killing nearly all on it. What had not been seen prior to this was removing free will from the equation for a man, a free will that we consider fundamental to our ability to call ourselves aware. There may be another instance of this removal of will elsewhere, but one does not come to mind for me now, and certainly this is the instance that stands out the most, even if there are others it can be compared to. I believe that there is significance to demonstrating this power, but that significance is most apparent in how infrequently the power is then used, perhaps only being a singular recorded event. Additionally the significance of the power is highlighted by how the single record remains of this power's use, but for quite some time now we have not seen it directly used again; even the ability to prove God on a broad level seems to have been intentionally allowed to fade. I feel that all of this is designed to allow for an environment where mankind can truly believe on a broad scale that this reality does not follow the rules of authority, and allow many the space to believe that even the rules of agreement do not apply to reality. As such mankind loosly follow rules to exchange coins as I describe in the analogy of the game, but there are those who feel they can cheat the system on the level I describe as being fundamental as well (this level is deeper than currency exchange, and would be better linked to free will between individuals in the system).
It feels like only in this environment can mankind truly separate themselves from the strong ties of authority well enough in their imagination to comprehend agreement at its core, or at least closely enough to agreement's core in order to mentally establish a structure strong enough to support agreement in the face of authority. This is reminding me of the egg drop assignment we had to do in highschool physics. Essentially the structure one establishes for agreement would be represented by the straws around the egg. These must be strong enough to withstand the full force of authority, which would be the force of gravity and the resulting impact of the structure with the ground. Unlike the egg drop, however, it seems that God will not reinitiate full authority in practice until God knows that the straws will protect the egg, as the egg is the seed of the shape of things to come. Once that structure is stable enough though, the end will be called without more delay, the egg will drop with the straws around it, and the fall will be absorbed by the structure. In this way, God demonstrating authority and then allowing authority to simmer and fade from view is the state of grace we experience in the current state of things, a state that acts as the time we have to complete the egg drop assignment, so that the shape of things to come is as amazing as God has planned, through agreement.
