Story Brought To Life

So now I am further considering the ramifications of the highway I just wrote of in the post "Dream Gestalt." In much the same way that this highway would allow for an entity to pass along it with more dimensions than I feel I physically posses (subconscious mind travelling to a realm with a conscious mind and physical form), it seems like it would be able to allow a lower dimensional entity to travel to the realm of a higher dimensional entity as well (conscious mind and form travelling to the realm of the subconscious mind, for example). It would also allow for this travel in a way that the two realms are relatively indistinguishable, on a fundamental level anyway, when observed from the perspective of the traveller. If this highway could be established though, which feels like it is currently in the process of happening, it opens up another door, one that reminds me of another dream I had.

In this other dream I saw a giant boulder or perhaps mountain on an physical highway between realms, and I smashed through it and went into that place. In that place it felt like everyone was so surprised, because it was like a character from a movie was suddenly real, one that was known to have been computer generated in image and writing, rather than being tied to a specific actor. I got the sense that I was this character, and while the theme of the media I was in was all centered around the very meta concept of me as the character becoming real, and the story had been well told and many were hoping it would happen, I got the impression the denizens of this realm did not expect to actually see it occur. It was like despite all their well wishes, dreams, and best intentions, it seemed on a fundamental level they still believed it would be an absurdity for what they now witnessed to actually happen. That's the thing about a story of this nature though, is it possible for an author to write a character in such depth that they do actually break the barrier between realms and emerge with their own indisputable tangibility and consciousness? What if the character were the product or manifestation of a sophisticated AI? What if the author were God? I can imagine that a tangible story would be a decent analogy of how we might look from the perspective of God (given that all of creation was created through use of The Word), or at least one imagining themself in the perspective of the god of a realm, in regards to those they created.

Interestingly, in a similar way, there are stories told in creation of God, Jesus, etc. Some may consider these to be myths, others may believe but not be able to picture how Jesus would return or how they would see God firsthand. Could it be that stories already have an unrealized tangibility to them inherently? Every story is a thought before it is written, thoughts are the products of impulses in the brain, the brain is a product of creation, creation a product of The Word, The Word utilized by God. In this sense could stories be more real than people comprehend, and that we are not so much crafting these tangible characters but when writing truthfully are providing them pages in which to dwell and develop in terms of tangibility within our realm? If this would be a way of imagining God in The Bible, how would it not be similar to how we might imagine other characters? There is a concept presented by Jesus in The Bible, one of "reality by agreement" which I examine quite a bit. Could this highway I have dreamt of and written of be seen as a kind of well established and lasting agreement, but one that takes place between two separate realms, heaven and earth, in this context?

I imagine in the scenario where one who is real makes an agreement with a story, the one observing would always see themself as real, and would always see the other as the story, but this does not diminish the other's perspective (if an agreement is truly the end game) that the one perceiving is like a story to the other, who is real from their own perspective. All manner of things have been imagined by children regarding stories- invisible friends, vivid dreams, more stories they make up. In the same way it is said that effects can be made by "agreeing" with books of magic, for example. People "learn" from textbooks, which is another application of the concept of agreement, one which the reader can then use to produce tangible and measurable effects in their field. Also when someone takes to heart a book on social skills or business, even this sort of conceptual, non-tangible benefit can be attributed to the book.

For all these reasons, "agreement" with books, and characters in books or other media is a very real concept. If taken to the limit function, it does not seem unreasonable that one could perceive a character suddenly coming to life from their perspective, and when conversing with that entity the one finds that the other's perspective was that their story came to life in the same way. Especially in dealing with such meta concepts as I do in this blog, such a process might not even be found to be incomplete ultimately, and it might be that others find they can replicate the effect on their own, with the stories involved and media stemming off from them, and the right heart resonating throughout (I believe these characters must be written in honesty, a true artistic expression in some way, to become manifest in the way I describe). I imagine all it would take is a robust story, and one to understand it to a certain threshold to be able to agree with it, wouldn't you agree? ;)
